Being an essential part of the Game Developer Conference (GDC) 2021, Independent Game Festival (IGF) is all set to take place as a hybrid physical and online event from the 19th July to July 23rd at San Francisco’s Moscone Convention Center. With the closing curtains to this year’s end, a new year rising with hope, exploration, and believe starts ahead. Independent Game Festival has witnessed many outbreaking games previously with the titles like Spelunky, Braid, Night in the Woods, and so on, and now this time it’s a chance for all other games out there to reserve a tight spot on the top-notch place.
Independent Game Festival (IGF) has released the categories for the selection of the winners from the six finalists each which includes the following –
Excellence in Visual Art
Excellence in Audio
Excellence in Design
Excellence in Narrative
Best Student Game
Also, a special Nuovo Award honouring the title, “makes the jurors think differently about games as a medium” will have eight finalists. Further, the IGF Audience Award will be finalized from the voting system by the audience through the web-based poll and finally, six finalists will be chosen ahead for the competition to the Seumas McNally Grand Prize.
Submit your Game.
The submissions to the Independent Game Festival start straight from $25 for the students to $75 for all other Indie Creators. However, as it’s an Indie Game Festival, Independent Game Festival has also taken care of the small Indie creators who are unable to participate due to the entry fee. A waiver application form is available for such creators which will help them ahead to take part in the competition once their application is accepted without any entry fee.
